BOLD METAL WORK provides metal fabrication, installation and finishing. Our specialization is in railings, kitchen hoods and custom products. We are guided by a commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
We work with builders, architects and private clients who are looking for some special custom metal work whether it’s in a newly built residence, remodel or commercial setting. The majority of what we do is interior and exterior railings, kitchen hood surrounds, fireplace surrounds, shelving, cabinets, and pretty much anything that you would like to have done in metal. We work with a variety of metals: hot and cold rolled steel, stainless, aluminum, brass and bronze. We can finish it off with sandblasting, and powder coated, painted, and that special look of handrubbed blackend steel which is one of our specialties. Our gallery of photographs shows the range of work we have produced.

BO JACOBSSON started his career in his hometown of Anderstorp, Sweden, learning the metal trade. He moved to New York City in the early 90’s where he started Bo Jacobsson Studio, and quickly gained a variety of clients, from various museums, The Bronx zoo, fashion showrooms and was able to do some projects for Madonna’s apartment.
Fast forward a few years, after traveling and starting a family, he moved to Minnesota where he started another company, Jacobsson Carruthers LLC. Bo’s former partner Tom Carruthers moved on to pursue other interests and so Bold Metal Work LLC began.
Bo loves to collaborate with clients, builders and private home owners, fabricating and installing beautiful metal components. And did we say he loves metal, and of course his motorcycles.
The staff at Bold Metal Work has extensive experience and work well together as a team. They are essential to the success of the company.
